HOPE Clinical Trials Facility - the story so far ...
In late 2019, planning works started to
enable the expansion of the HOPE Clinical Trials Facility into the University’s
Robert Kilpatrick Clinical Sciences Building at the Leicester Royal
Infirmary. Physical demolition started
in 2020 and works are close to completion.
The journey starts now showing how the space was transformed from an old and disused research laboratory to office accommodation.
Transforming from this:
To this:

From research laboratory to new main office. Chosen finishes will provide a light, bright but practical and modern working environment.
Furniture will complement the design further with tables finished in a light wood colour and operators chairs bringing a ‘pop’ of colour in teal fabric to align with Hope Against Cancer branding.
A small microscope facility has been transformed into a bright and modern kitchen area for staff to use.
As the new facility will host around 30 staff, additional hot-desking space was required. Existing offices next to the laboratory were gutted and developed to provide additional capacity.
Transforming from this:

To this:

Clinical trials generate lots of important records and paperwork, most of which are patient notes and site files. A small office has been transformed into a dedicated storage facility with state of the art roller racking. This is taller and deeper than previous racking systems, allowing more patient notes to be held. What a transformation!
